What we like...
We always say that no matter how good the electric components are, the bike basics have got to be right first. This bike definitely has a firm hold on the basics. The frame on this Lapierre is very similar to the Haibike hardtail frames which are a huge hit with our customers. The rake of the front forks gives you a bit of a downhill MTB flavour too. If you are someone who wants that added control on unpredictable surfaces, this design feature will give you some confidence while you ride.
What you'll like...
The Bosch Performance motor is a solid bet for anyone who wants to just ride and not worry about the terrain or the battery consumption. It's powerful enough for pretty much any hill, but it's not as 'hungry' for power as the highest power motors. The rest of the components are solid quality too. There's nothing here that we can really poke holes in. It's a bike you can have a lot of confidence that you can ride and maintain for years.
We often recommend a hardtail mountain bike for someone who is unsure whether they will spend more time on the road or off-road, as it can deal with both surfaces without you having to fork out for the extra expense of a full suspension e-bike.
