About the Focus Jam² 6.9
Go Trail riding and Touring
The ride position of the Jam² 6.9 is very central, so immediately there's a good sense of comfort and control.
You might think the arrangement of the motor in the bottom of the frame looks unusual, but it allows the large capacity 750wh battery to sit as low as possible, and also allows it to be removed easily from the frame without tools.
The bike comes with a compact frame bag on the downtube which you can put your spare inner tub and tools in, but it also has a USB-C port as well to plug in whichever device you use for navigation.
The level of suspension on this bike is calibrated for a high level of comfort, but also good traction in steeper climbing sections, which is why we think the 6.9 would be more enjoyed by off-road tourers rather than downhillers, but that might be splitting hairs. The suspension is great, and the F.O.L.D. system that Focus has developed has actually been improved this season.
Bosch CX Smart System
The Jam² 6.9 uses the CX Smart System by Bosch which produces a peak torque of 85nm, which on a bike like this which has superb traction, means riding uphill is a real treat. You will want to find as many steep climbs as you can.
The overall spec of this bike is brilliant - Shimano XT gearing, DT Swiss wheels, FOX suspension - it all adds up to a fantastic ride.
