About the Gazelle Grenoble C5 HMB
Sit up and admire the view
Once you mount this bike, you'll feel very regal indeed. It gives you a nice, upright position that's perfect for enjoying the scenery. For many of our customers who are used to traditional, hybrid style, non-electric bikes, this is quite the change, but a welcome one. It's also nice if you're protecting a sensitive back and shoulders.
The Grenoble has become our go-to small, stepthrough electric bike in recent years. The short distance between seat and handlebar, plus the swept back handlebar shape is what makes is comfortable enough to ride every day.
High Performance motor
The motor that Gazelle have put in the Grenoble C5 is the Bosch Performance Line motor which strikes an excellent balance between uphill power and mileage. The motor is complemented with a 500wh battery which is neatly slotted into the downtube.
Mileage is really hard to predict - there are just so many factors that affect it - but so long as you keep your tyre pressure up, and stay in an efficient gear (not a 'grinding' gear), you will be travelling a long way before you need to look for a plug socket.
Belt Drive: Smooth as silk
With a belt-drive - as opposed to the more common bike chains - the ride becomes super smooth and it is practically silent as well. Another bonus of a belt-drive is that there is no maintenance beyond keeping it clean. No need to lubricate or replace.
Even more comfort
We really like it when there are little features that lift the bike above the ordinary. The Grenoble has suspension integrated into the seatpost and the front headset. You may never have owned a bike with two sets of suspension but it is brilliant.
Rather than large suspension forks, Gazelle use more subtle suspension units that fit seamlessly in with the overall design. The effect is a comfortable ride without adding bulk. You will want to ride this as often as possible!
Summary: For the rider who is ready for comfort. The Grenoble C5 HMB possesses all the good cycling design sense that has made Gazelle so popular for 128 years.
