About the Gazelle Ultimate C5 HMB (625wh)
Bigger battery, more options
The 625wh battery version of this bike uses the Kiox 300 display. With a larger battery than the 500wh version, you can either take advantage of the higher power-assistance levels to keep your commute easy (who wants to arrive at work sweaty?), or to carry more with you when you go on a day out (picnic anyone?).Peace of mind, Peace and Quiet
If you are looking for an electric bike to help you enjoy the tranquillity of nature you can't do much better than this.
Rather than a chain, this bike has a carbon belt which means the whole power system is incredibly quiet. You'll barely make a sound as you glide through your chosen green spaces.
It's very reliable too. Belt drives need no maintenance beyond cleaning if it's muddy, and along with the low-maintenance Shimano hub gears, this is a bike that offers peace of mind for anyone nervous of the technical side of biking.
What we like about the Ultimate range from Gazelle is that they are fitted with Bosch Performance motors. These powerful climbing motors were originally created for electric mountain bikes. However when they're fitted into a bike like this, it means riding uphill even with full pannier bags is a pleasure. Don't be afraid to pack extra when you have a Bosch Performance motor.
Gazelle's are extremely well made. It's hard to tell just from photographs, but when you see them in the showroom - and eventually come to test-ride one - you understand that serious care has gone into its manufacturing. The clean lines, the robustness of the components and smoothness of the ride actually make the rider feel somewhat regal.
Summary: Having a larger battery in a bike like the Ultimate C5, which already was a fantastic e-bike, has made this model even more of a brilliant companion on a day's bike ride. .
