About the BMC Alpenchallenge AMP Cross
Cyclocross meets Gravel meets Commuting
This is a bike that bridges so many gaps. The choice of components allow this bike to handle off-road riding. To be clear, it's not a mountain bike, but with the knobbly tyres, very responsive brakes, and mountainbike groupset, it will allow you off-road. If you look closely at the seat stay, you might notice a black stripe. This is actually a rear suspension unit that allows you to suffer the odd shock or two on bumpy roads. For a commuter, you'll be glad to have such a lightweight carbon frame which means that you don't have to work so hard to maintain a high cruising speed in traffic.
Shimano STEPS E-6100 motor
The Japanese cycling giants at Shimano have created a slimline motor that strikes a lovely balance between power and range. It's a smooth and quiet motor that we think works very well for this versatile style of bike. A less powerful motor would compromise the off-road ability, while a more powerful motor would be too bulky for the gravel/commute riding.
Sleek, neat design
This bike has been designed to be as sleek as it can be. Wiring has been routed internally where it can be, and as previously mentioned the suspension is an almost invisible part of the seat stay. It's impossible not to feel stylish on this.
Summary: A flat-bar electric bike for a variety of terrains and purposes, but whatever your reason to ride, you'll enjoy the highest quality performance.
