Mountain bikes and especially electric mountain bikes aren't always on the sleek side, shall we say. The Focus Jarifa² 6.8 Nine is an exception. A slim frame with a very neat geometry gives the a bike a light, un-clunky look that we really like. The sage green frame goes well with the tan tyre-wall and overall the bike gives off the impression of a classic, cross-country MTB.
Enjoy Bosch's Latest Improvements
Within that stylish frame is the latest Bosch CX motor - now on generation 4. More powerful uphill than ever before and with a very smooth action, you can be confident from the first pedal stroke that you'll climb any steep slope you encounter. We were seriously impressed at how small the motor is these days, and yet there is more power. All credit to the German manufacturers for this improvement. Alongside that is a 625wh battery. You want long battery life? You got it. We reckon, with sensible use of the e-assistance, you'll get 60-85 miles per charge.
Do more, see more
We've tested this bike on urban roads as well and can tell you that the 29inch wheels and 100mm front suspension are extremely good at taking on potholes in the road surface. As with all ' 29er' electric mountain bikes, it is likely that you will find it a fun alternative mode of transport around town as well as for your cross-country escapes. The bike very helpfully comes with pre-made mounting points in the frame so it's easy to add a rack, mudguards and kickstand should you want to convert it to an urban bike.
Summary: A seriously stylish and versatile e-hardtail that we know you'll use for more than just cross-country riding.
As with all our e-bikes, this is available to test-ride. Contact your nearest showroom to reserve your slot. Size guide: 48cm / Large
