Finding the right bike for you can become a game of Cinderella's Slipper and we know many people struggle to find a bike that's small enough if you're short in stature. We've specifically stocked this model in a lowstep, 42cm frame with 26" wheels to accomodate compact riders, though this would also benefit those who want to feel closer to the ground for reassurance.
The great thing about the Dutch-designed, stepthrough frame is that even though it is a smaller bike, it is still comfortable and not cramped. The upright position for riding takes away any strain from your back and wrists, and lets you enjoy the scenery far more easily than other bike styles.
Ready to Ride
There is absolutely nothing we'd add to this to make this better except perhaps a set of panniers for carrying your bits and pieces. We really like the comfort features such as the suspension units in the headstem and seatpost, the comfort grips and Selle Royal saddle - little luxuries that make the ride experience so much more enjoyable. The lights are neatly positioned so there are few 'sticky out bits'. We just love the level of 'finish' on Gazelle bikes. It's is second to none.
If the Dutch know about bicycles, then the Germans know about motors. The Bosch Active Line Plus motor is a smooth motor that balances high mileage with hill climbing. With a bike like this which you are likely to use as a shopping bike, you will not want to go for a motor that does not have at least this level of torque (50nm).
Fully equipped stepthrough bikes can be heavy by nature so we make sure to stock them only with motors that can cope. The Active Line Plus motor ticks that box.

About the brand
Over the course of 125 years, Royal Dutch Gazelle has grown from a small two-man business selling three bicycles into the biggest Dutch bicycle brand selling over 250,000 bicycles a year. This makes Gazelle the market leader in the Netherlands and the bikes are still assembled in the original Gazelle factory in Dieren. They are very proud of their “Royal” title, which was awarded to them by Princess Margriet in honour of their 100th anniversary in 1992.
Gazelle produce stunning, quality bicycles that are as light and comfortable possible. Their mission is to make cycling fun and easy for everyone. That’s why they keep pushing the boundaries on smart Dutch design and technical innovations.
