About the Haibike Sduro Trekking 5.0 lowstep

Bridging the gap between commuting/city electric bike and touring bike, the SDURO Trekking 5.0 is a surprisingly agile and road-friendly e-bike that is fully-equipped for weekend adventures away from the city as well.

One of the distinctive features of this bike is the gearing: 20-speed Shimano XT gears. We don't typically see so many on the electric bikes in our range, but this extra capacity means you can maintain fast and easy cruising speeds, and accelerate on the flat and downhill much more easily than on other bikes of its type.

The XT components by Shimano are excellent in general; the gears click through swiftly and firmly so you can maintain your pedal rhythm. If you're the type of rider who likes to change gear to get maximum efficiency, you will benefit from extra mileage from the battery charge too.

The other feature that sets it apart from other trekking electric bikes are the 28 x 1.6 tyres. This is an easy-rolling and road-friendly size that's a little slimmer than the other trekking bikes you might see in our showrooms. This means that if you're mainly going to be riding along on tarmac, there's little drag to hold back the awesome power from the Yamaha PW-ST motor.

Riders will also like the Yamaha display in the centre of the handlebars. Large, unfussy text with good illumination, it provides reassuringly clear information while your ride.

Summary: An excellent all-rounder that would suit a rider who wants to be 'in charge' of the gearing to get the maximum from this agile and powerful e-bike.
