The engineers and designers at BMC headquarters in Grenchen, Switzerland are rather spoiled when it comes to test-tracks. They have some of the world's best singletrack and so understand how to create a bike that is able to deal with whatever a trail might throw at a rider.
The Trailfox Amp Two is, according to the reviewer over at Pink Bike, "One of the best all-around e-MTB that I've tested to date". This all-round ability is thanks to all the small yet significant adjustments that those engineers and designers have made at their purpose-built IMPEC laboratory.
The frame has been made as stiff as possible. The battery is housed within the frame encased in the 'Twin Hollow Core'. Essentially this is two full tubes connected on the upper side of the frame, with the battery housed between them. This allows the frame to have maximum stiffness so the raw power of the Shimano E-8000 motor doesn't dissipate. That's more energy channelled into moving you uphill.
The rear triangle is also very stiff - just two small linkages at the front end. Again, power is not wasted in lateral movement.
These adjustments as well as the e-bike optimized components - such as the thick-walled Fox front forks - all help to keep the bike planted as firmly in the dirt as it possibly can be. That's why it's such a good off-road climber as well. It's high traction, and high stiffness, takes full advantage of the motor power. It won't win awards for being a nimble ride, but for most off-road riders, and for anyone after a bike that feels powerful from the bottom of the climb to the top, go for the Trailfox.

About the BMC brand
Intricate Swiss engineering is a given when you’re talking about BMC Switzerland. This premium approach to bikes goes back to 1994, when they began in Grenchen, Switzerland, where they’re still housed today. The in-house Impec Lab is where their brightest minds keep them at the cutting edge of design.
The BMC brand is a stalwart of the race scene with teams and riders winning global titles galore including the Tour de France, the Tour de Romandie, the Tirreno–Adriatico, the Tour de Wallonie, the Paris–Tours, Critérium Internationa and the Paris–Roubaix. High performance is built into their bikes, which you'll feel on a test-ride.
