E-bike manufacturers have been very clever putting the Bosch 'Performance' motor into these city-style electric bikes. Having the uphill punch of the Performance motor is a real delight.
In theory, the higher torque motors are hungrier for electricity than the 'Active' motor, which is normally seen on city e-bikes. However, this doesn't seem to matter on e-bikes like the Medeo. The Medeo is relatively lightweight for an e-bike in its class, the gearing is very good, and the whole thing rolls along very well thanks to the Big Apple tyres and 28" wheels. This all means that once your momentum is up, battery efficiency can be extremely high, so long as you're in the right gear. You should find that you still get high mileage from this bike - most riders will never run out of juice before the ride ends.
