About the Haibike Xduro Adventr 5.0

Are you ready for a glimpse of the future? Well it has arrived.

After a breathless wait, the highly anticipated FLYON motor has landed. FLYON is the brand new electric bike system created by e-bike specialists Haibike. It’s innovation? FLYON is able to put 120nm of torque through the cranks which means unmatched climbing ability and the fastest acceleration to cruising speed of any e-bike system available to UK customers.

Here is the Haibike Xduro Adventr 5.0 – a trekking electric bike that elevates the genre to a new level. The first thing you’ll notice is the carbon frame. When you see the bike in the flesh, with its bright, white down tube, there is something space age about it, almost as if inspired by the NASA shuttle programme. The lightness of the carbon frame aids in effortlessly launching the bike into forward motion.

The rocket analogy is apt when you come to look at that FLYON motor. In 'Xtreme mode', the 120nm torque gets this bike galloping uphill. On the steepest slope we could find, the bike was practically floating up the incline.

As you might expect, being so powerful uses a lot of battery energy, so if you’re planning a long ride with no recharging stops, save Xtreme mode for when you need it most.

Talking of the battery, at 630wh, this is bigger than Bosch or Yamaha systems. You should feel very confident that you won’t run out of juice when you’re out and about. The battery is positioned low down within the bike frame which gives the bike optimal stability. You, the rider, therefore gain more comfort and more control. A front suspension fork with 120mm also helps in that regard.

The Xduro Adventr 5.0 has all the smart features of any of our trekking electric bikes but puts its own high spec spin on them. For example, the rear rack is not just a rear rack, it has built in rear lights. There is an integrated front light - the Skybeamer - too which puts out a useful 300 lumens

Another useful feature is a crystal clear handlebar display. Each power assistance mode is colour coded so you can see with the quickest of glances what mode you’re in.

We think that this bike will appeal to a somewhat serious rider who wants something sporty but is interested in switching to a cycle commute. The road-ready accessories are certainly robust enough to weather daily use.
